"At 4 years old I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. It was one of the scariest times in my life. Overcoming the anxiety and fear associated with cancer, I always remembered how many good people I have to help support me. The one thing that always calmed me down was my mom. Always being there, never leaving my side. If I met someone today going through the same thing I would tell them to make sure they have a good support system in place, a positive mindset and to just breathe. Breathe through the pain, the needles, the chemotherapy. Breathe through the difficult times, even when you know your friends have lost their battle. The inspiration for me is thinking how far I've come and how much I've gone through. I've inspired myself to become a better person in some ways. Looking back at everything I've conquered is a really big reminder to keep going and to keep pushing. Ever since I was young I've always wanted to travel to Africa. It's been a goal of mine to meet the children there so I can help change lives."
